Transition (part three)

The parallel between Elijah and John the Baptist in Matthew 11 brings to us principles that can bring understanding to the transition that I believe is occurring today.  Elijah was a prophet who suffered under the government of King Ahab.  John the Baptist preached a message of repentance and the government of that day under Herod jailed him and killed him.  We cannot ignore the fact that the governments of this day would love nothing more than to destroy the message of the bible.  In America, one of our founding principles gives to us religious freedom.  However, the subtle attacks of those that oppose the message of Christ continue to attempt every means to destroy our liberty to declare the truth of the bible.

Elijah faced a wicked King in Ahab.  Ahab’s wife, Jezebel proclaimed Baal as the only god to worship.  Governments are corrupted when the bible is replaced and the message of the bible is silenced.  In America, the form of idolatry we face is intellectualism which is being used to replace the message of the bible.  Wicked Jezebel sought after and killed many of the prophets of God, and sent a message to Elijah that he would be next.  Elijah left and sat under a juniper tree and prayed for God to take his life.  Elijah told God all of the prophets were dead and he was alone and they were seeking his life.  God told Elijah that He had 7000 who never bowed a knee to Baal.

God has a remnant who will not bow or bend to the pressures of this ungodly world.  The battle lines are being drawn clearly in this world.  Generations are now coming forth that have more to fight against than ever before.  The indoctrination started long ago in this nation by the silencing of the message of the bible.  What has been taught and is being taught now in classrooms all over America is doing damage to the minds of children.  The only thing that can set them free is the power of the gospel of Christ.  I have to believe that God has thousands who never bow the knee to the intellectualism of the classrooms that deny the power of God in the learning process.

If we’re going to be true to the kingdom culture of the Word of God, we must begin to embrace the reality of what Satan is doing and launch a counter-assault against his plan.  Churches must begin to take back the responsibility to educate our children in the ways of God with the same fervency that the government is peddling idolatrous misinformation.  How many children must we sacrifice before we answer the call?  We no longer have to wonder why so many young adults are in such chaos and disorder in their minds and souls.  We no longer have to wonder why so many are facing addiction and depression.  We no longer have to wonder why so many are ending their own life due to the inability to cope with life.  These things are the effects of replacing the message of the bible with mere human intelligence in the learning process.

Just as Elijah felt alone and John battled doubt, we can hear the answer of the Lord that His power is still here and there are thousands who have never bowed a knee to the idolatry of our day.  We need to call those who have ears to hear to rally to the cause of Christ and commit to the kingdom of God.  May we all embrace the culture of the bible and allow it to permeate every aspect of our life.  The walls of the church building should not contain our walk with God.
