Jeremiah 7:28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
These words are timely for us today in our nation. Our nation invaded Afghanistan 20 years ago. The initial action we took may be debated as to whether it was the right thing to do. But the fact is that we have had a presence there for 20 years now. Our presence there changed many things in that Nation. The culture changed, the government changed, and people lived in relative freedom from an oppressive system of belief and a culture that has been in place for many centuries. Over the years we have been able to decrease the number of soldiers on the ground. Our NATO alliance also had soldiers on the ground. It was reported we had 2500 soldiers there accompanied by 8000 NATO soldiers from many other countries. Under the leadership of the American soldiers, we have trained an army of 300,000 Afghan soldiers. The only way those soldiers could maintain the fight against the terrorist regime that previously ruled was through our air support and intelligence. It had been over a year since one of our soldiers had lost their life.
The Media has reported under the cover of darkness we pulled our forces out with no communication to allied soldiers, leaving them to stand alone. We abandoned women and young girls to face death or sexual slavery. We have left 22 underground Pastors and reports of 3000 professing Christians to face persecution and certain death. These are the most despicable and dishonorable acts our Nation has ever committed. The way in which we left was not just politically wrong, but it was morally and spiritually wrong. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue; it is a matter of honor and dishonor. My heart is breaking over a Nation that stands in disgrace because of political stupidity. My heart is breaking over a Nation that I once served proudly that would now leave the defense of helpless people and turn their backs on their own friends. The implications of turning over the Nation to the Taliban are too numerous to count. At our southern border, we are not only being flooded with people with Covid 19, but we are now going to be flooded with terrorists with destruction on their minds. Israel now will have another enemy to face that has been armed by our own weapons that we left to them. We have now given over global leadership to China and we have bowed to Russia. The fall of America has already taken place we are now just living through the process of acknowledgment to that fact.
In my opinion, the lines are now permanently drawn in my mind. It has been true for some time that you cannot reconcile your Christian profession and faith with a political agenda that is Anti-bible and Anti-Christ. Now, I don’t believe it is possible to reconcile your fellowship with a people who would support such an act of cowardice and dishonor. I’m sickened by the lies that our leaders are saying concerning this issue when video evidence directly contradicts what they are saying. I don’t know what it will take for the people of this Nation to say enough is enough and I don’t pretend to know what that would even look like, however, we can be sure that God in heaven is making a record concerning what were doing.
Jesus said in Mat 10:34-36 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
