1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order. The word decently means honor and honesty. The word order means to be in agreement with the established and fixed will of God.
The Saturday night bible study took a bit of a different turn this week. It was a wonderful experience. Everything that was planned for the gathering got moved aside for what the Lord had planned. The spontaneous nature of the meeting was a beautiful experience. I had planned to teach from the book of Ephesians, but when I walked in I felt an urgency to sing a song. Ron Ross had a powerful word and we began to sing and then Ron shared the word of God and a word from God. Between songs of worship, Ron would read the Word that explained the song in an orderly but spontaneous fashion. When it was over I knew that the Lord was pleased with what happened and we all felt fulfilled and encouraged. Sometimes God’s order doesn’t fit with our plan. The combination of worship and the Word in a free flow back and forth led us to be able to flow with the breath of the Spirit. This is what we should seek every time we come together.
What is God’s order when we meet? God’s order is to bring us more fully into His eternal will for our lives. Everything that we do in our gatherings should promote a free environment for openness to more of the will of God to fill our lives. The only way I have ever encountered the glory of His presence was in being in the moment beyond anything I had planned. I’m hoping that we can get together and enjoy hearing His voice, loving on Jesus, and be more transformed in His presence. That is the will of God for His people in these days. When the Word of God goes forth we should receive it with gladness and hunger. Singing to Him should move past performance into the sound of our love for Him.
Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
