A NEW JOURNEY
Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
When you hear the word journey it can mean many different things to you. Depending on the circumstance you face in life, this word can bring excitement or fear. I’m learning that God prepares us for what is ahead, without our knowing it. Every journey has within its nature certain principles that are unmovable. First, every journey requires preparation. The time to prepare is before the journey begins. I have learned that when a new journey begins in my life I can reflect and see how God was preparing me for what was ahead without me even knowing it. Those preparations become strength during the journey so that the proper destination can be reached. Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. God promises to finish what He started in us. What God is doing in your life is merely preparation for what is ahead of you. What is ahead of you becomes a preparation for what is ahead of that. This cycle seems to continue until such time as we reach the destination. Philippians 1:6 declares that the journey is inevitable. Whether we are prepared or not the journey is coming. God, Himself has promised that he will take us on the journey of a lifetime.
Ps 107:2 is about us telling our story. Over and over, we are told in scripture to tell our story. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. Telling the story of our journey becomes important to your own development in Christ and serves as a weapon of warfare against the enemy. Trust that the journey you are on will be faced with many obstacles and distractions from the hand of the enemy, but our testimony of God’s preparations will crush the enemy and you will be able to run this race with patience and strength. A new anointing is placed on people who are walking a new journey. This anointing you may have never experienced in the past is required these days. The anointing you will find in the story you tell of the journey your own will be wrapped up in the declaring the goodness of the Lord and His mighty works to his people.
I’m thankful that God has prepared me for the new journey ahead. I’m grateful for the strength God has given me to endure this journey, to overcome the obstacles Satan has placed on the road, and to be used to knock down the gates of Hell. Come along with me on this journey and tell your story with me.
