Go ahead and Die

Col 2:20-23 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. No more fitting passage of scripture could be considered for our day today than…See More

Transition (part three)

The parallel between Elijah and John the Baptist in Matthew 11 brings to us principles that can bring understanding to the transition that I believe is occurring today.  Elijah was a prophet who suffered under the government of King Ahab.  John the Baptist preached a message of repentance and the government of that day under Herod jailed him and killed him.  We cannot ignore the fact that the governments of this day would love nothing more than to destroy the message of the bible.  In America,…See More

Decency and Orderly

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.  The word decently means honor and honesty.  The word order means to be in agreement with the established and fixed will of God.The Saturday night bible study took a bit of a different turn this week.  It was a wonderful experience.  Everything that was planned for the gathering got moved aside for what the Lord had planned.  The spontaneous nature of the meeting was a beautiful experience.  I had planned to teach from the book…See More

Remember Shiloh

Ephesians 3:10-11 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. The question that has filled my thoughts over the last few years is centered around the principle of purpose.  For me the understanding of the connection between passion and purpose is undeniable.  Our passion leads us into the purpose of God for our life.  God placed a…See More

The Perfect Church Service

What would the perfect church service look like?  What would the perfect church service feel like?  What would it be like to be in the middle of the perfect church service?  It does seem that there are those who try to develop and present the perfect church service.  The problem is we seem to be attempting this through the power of our own strength and intellect. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision the people perish.  Habakkuk 2:2 Write the vision, and make it plain on tables, that he may…See More

Critical or Corrective

Col 4:6, Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.  Eph 4:29, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. Much is said in the bible concerning our speech.  I recently did a teaching on the difference between criticism and correction.  I believe the lines are blurred concerning these two things.  Often we call correction…See More

Are you being Logical

1Th 5:23,  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It appears that this time is being defined by logical conclusions rather than divine revelation.  Many are reading the circumstances they are in and coming to logical conclusions as to how to move forward.  We have discussed before that logic does not equal truth.  Logic can only equal human opinion.  The only place to…See More

The Church of Satan

God offers truth, Satan offers lies.  God gives joy, Satan offers sorrow and sadness.  God brings peace while Satan gives confusion and sorrow.  God gives to His children spiritual satisfaction; Satan can only offer fleshly pleasure that can only last for a moment.  With everything that God does, Satan attempts to offer a cheap imitation. When Peter confessed who Jesus was, Jesus responded by saying, upon this rock, I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  On…See More

Cultural Relevance

John 1:1 says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  Matthew 24:35 says, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.  Psalm 119:89 says, For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Every issue we face in America both politically and in the Church comes down to a single thing.  Do we believe the bible or not?  There is no issue that the bible does not have the answer for.  We should not decide where we stand on an issue…See More

This One Thing I Do

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Most every time I have read this verse or preached from this verse, I have concentrated on Paul forgetting those things which are behind.  Memories of our past can distract, discourage, depress, and derail us from the plan of…See More

I Am Who you say I Am

The response of Jesus has been in my mind for some time.  He was the King of the Jews, however, the Jews must receive Him as the Son of God before He could be their King.  We know from John 1:11-12 that He came unto His own and His own received Him not.  But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God.

Our identity is basically threefold.  What we say we are, is one identity.  What God says we are, is another identity.  What others say we are, is yet…

Stop Avoiding the Unavoidable

Posted on July 8, 2021 at 8:20am 0 Comments

While in prayer this morning the Lord spoke some things to me.  When the Lord speaks to me normally it begins a process through which everything fits into the spectrum of what He has said to me.  One of the things that God told me was to stop avoiding the unavoidable.

There are many things that we are told in the bible to shun, escape, or flee from.  We are told in 2 Timothy 2:16 to shun profane and vain babblings. 2 Timothy 2:22 says, to flee from youthful lusts.  1 Corinthians…
