The whole truth

Over the past twenty to thirty years, I am finding more and more people who tell partial truths to benefit themselves. If, I would have told a partial truth, when I was a child or teenager, I would have gotten my butt handed to me. I find it sad that people have a hard time telling the whole truth. Instead people hide behind the lie in hopes that they will not have to face the truth. We have failed to teach a generation how to face the truth, instead we have allowed technology to raise our children.
In Acts 5:1-11, we find the story of Ananias and his wife Sapphira. If Ananias and Sapphira would have came to Peter and stated that they had misappropriated the funds and repented, the story might have turned out different, but in order to benefit themselves they decided to tell a partial truth and lie to the Holy Spirit. If we as a people will face the truth and allow God to handle the situations things would turn out better.
In Genesis chapter 3, we see the story of Adam and Eve. Where the serpent tells Eve, that it was okay to eat from the tree of good and evil. So, Eve ate of the tree and saw that it was good and gave some to Adam, who was with her. We know that Adam was there for that conversation between Eve and the serpent. So, Adam did not need to blame anything on Eve because the scripture did not say that Adam disagreed with what the serpent was saying. When God was walking in the garden in the cool of the day calling for Adam, Adam stated that he was afraid, because he was naked. Then, the Lord asked Adam have you eaten of the tree that I commanded you not to eat from. If Adam would have stated that he had sinned and asked God to forgive him and to restore him things might have turned out different. Instead Adam told a partial truth and pointed the finger at Eve who in turn pointed her finger at the serpent, instead of asking for forgiveness.
Through out scripture we see where people told partial truths or straight up lies and got themselves judged or even killed. I spent twenty-three years in law enforcement and during that time most of the people that told partial truths or straight up lies ended up going to jail. When if they would have just told the truth, they would not have gone to jail or they would have gone on a lesser charge.
