Quickened – We have been quickened or made alive, with the very resurrection life of God through Jesus Christ. In the great exchange of the cross, Jesus died our death that we might have His life. It is “Zoe”: the life of God.
Our old man died with Him; in Him, on the cross. When He was justified and made alive (quickened) from the dead it was in and through His life that we were made alive as a new race that never existed before. We were formerly of the Earth, descendents of the first Adam. Through the work of the cross and Christ’s resurrection we are now of Heavenly origin; new creations united as one Body, through and in the last Adam: Jesus Christ!
Raised – Again, our life is no longer of Earthly origin; in Christ neither is our position. Jesus did not leave us behind in the Earth as new creation people. {spiritually speaking}
1Co 15:45amp Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. [Gen. 2:7.]
In Him we were resurrected and as He ascended to the Father, we were also raised with and in Him to be before our Father. Our position is no longer of the Earth where Satan still reigns for a season as god of this world. Through the resurrection we have been raised far above all principalities, powers, and dominions in Christ, of both demonic and angelic origin. We are to function as His Body in the Earth, from our spiritual position of being raised & seated with Him in the Heavens.
Eph 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Seated – Being seated with and in Him is massive. It speaks of us being the fruit of; and established in: the finished work of the cross of Christ!
Just as God the Father rested when He had finished the work of creation, Jesus; upon the completion of His substitutionary work of redemption, entered into glory on our behalf & sat down upon His Throne as the resurrected, reigning Lamb!
When a returning, triumphant king enters and is seated again upon His throne, it is a declaration to all that his enemies are conquered; the war is over, & the king reigns supreme over his domain. Even so has Christ conquered death, hell & the grave. Satan is defeated. Jesus Christ the Lamb Who was slain, now & forever more reigns as the Resurrected King of Glory. The amazing Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that in all that Jesus has ever done as the substitutional Lamb of God, it has been, and ever shall be in absolute identification with & for us! It is the eternal mystery of Divinity & humanity as one: us in Him and Christ in us!
Our privilege and challenge, is to enter into this Promised Land of rest; to cease from our own labors, through faith in the grace of the finished work of the Cross of Jesus Christ on our behalf.
