Nurtured by the “Loving” Shaking
"Your love, God, is my song, and I'll sing it! I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I'll never quit telling the story of your love--how you built the cosmos and guaranteed everything in it. Your love has always been our lives' foundation; your fidelity has been the roof over our heads" Psalm 89:1-2, The Message.
A very real and major part of the shaking going on in so many lives at present is directly related to this scripture. Say what? Yes, I'll be the guinea pig. The song of my life had gotten at least an octave off. The daily report I was giving was just a degree off. The perspective of my inner most being was a shade skewed. Some of the foundational support of my heart and life was built with suspect materials. My covering or roof was in bad need of “repair.”
Many; like me, were so “impaired” when we came to Christ, that we had to be “repaired” while we were being “prepared” for our destined call. “Their (servant-leaders) responsibility is to “equip” (which literally means to repair/prepare) God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-13, New Living Translation, parenthesis and emphases mine.
What He is showing me is that the shaking is needed to expose anything in my life that is not centered, focused, built and authentically meshed in His love. How much of our life song is His love? How much of our daily report is motivated by His love? How much evidence does our life give of His love? Is His love guaranteed by our relational reality? Are the fabric and materials of our lives built and sustained in His love? Is the faithfulness and fidelity of His love your only lover?
The shaking is rearranging and balancing everything by the plumb-line of His love. It really does boil down to that! Allow yourself to be “nurtured” today by his shaking love.
