Do you remember how exciting it was as a child on Christmas
Eve? You could hardly go to sleep; much less wait until morning. For me, the
anticipation built for weeks. It was the future hope and certainty that Santa
would come that seemed to propel me into a countdown of the weeks, hours and
minutes until Christmas morning finally arrived.
The nostalgic memory of that early and simple season of our
life (when we really believed and thus hoped) provides an understanding of how
we can now endure in the face of such tumultuous times.
There is no way to describe how critical our future hope of Christ’s
coming is to our endurance and focus in these days.
The hope of Christ’s second coming is what purifies our vision
and empowers us to finish strong. To be found faithful and about Papa’s Kingdom
business at His coming is non-negotiable. It will surely give you the strength
and encouragement needed to keep moving face forward into the gale force winds
of today’s shaking and adversity.
“Yes, I’m on my way! I’ll be there soon! I’m bringing my
payroll with me. I’ll pay all people in full for their life’s work. I’m A to Z,
the First and the Final, Beginning and Conclusion.
How blessed are those who wash their robes! The Tree of Life
is theirs for good, and they’ll walk through the gates to the City. But outside
for good are the filthy curs; sorcerers, fornicators, murderers, idolaters—all
who love and live lies.
I, Jesus, sent my Angel to testify to these things for the
churches. I’m the Root, and Branch of David, the Bright Morning Star.
“Come!” say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo,
“Come!” Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink. Drink freely of
the Water of Life!” Revelation 22: 12-17, The Message.
It is this blessed assurance that fans the flame of our faith.
The sheer joy of being confident that He has the last word; that His justice
will ultimately prevail is what makes present struggles worthwhile. The sure
hope of His coming quenches our thirsts and brings fulfillment in “the nasty
now and now, while we faithfully wait for the sweet by and by.”
“He who testifies to all these things says it again: “I’m on
my way! I’ll be there soon!” Yes! Come, Master Jesus! The grace of the Master
Jesus be with all of you. Oh, Yes!” Revelation 22:20-21, The Message.
Maranatha! Come quickly Lord Jesus! Be nurtured today by the sure hope of His
imminent coming!
In the grip of the grace of Christ’s return! Ron Ross
