“You’ve been given insight into God’s Kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them.Whenever someone has a ready heartfor this, the insights and understanding flow freely. But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears.
Your ears are open but you don’t hear a thing. Your eyes are awake but you don’t see a
thing. The people are blockheads! They stick their fingers in their ears so
they want have to listen; They screw their eyes shut so they want have to look,
so they want have to deal with me face-to-face and let me heal them.
But you have God-blessed eyes—eyes that see! And God-blessed ears—ears that hear! A lot of
people, prophets and humble believers among them, would have given anything to see what you are seeing, to hear what you are hearing, but never had the chance” Matthew 13:11-17, The Message (emphasis mine).
Do you have a ready heart? Are your ears on? Are the eyes of your heart focused with 20/20 vision?
If the eyes and ears of your heart are tuned to Jesus insight and understanding will flow freely. God is continually using the story of our own journey with Him to create readiness and to nudge us toward receptive insight.
Did you know that your walk of faith, your journey with Jesus is an ongoing parable? You and I are unique, unrepeatable miracles of God’s message of Grace. His story in and though us creates a hunger and thirst for intimacy (into-me-see). And it’s not only in us; but those around us gain fresh insightinto God’s Kingdom through our grace story.
Focus is critical. “That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts” Hebrews 3:7, New Living Translation. His intimate voice in our heart is “our daily bread.” Thus, maintaining
a soft and pliable heart condition is equally essential. But, how do we keep ourselves ready and receptive?
“In solitary silence we listen with great attentiveness to the voice that calls us beloved. God speaks into the deepest strata of our souls, into our self-hatred and shame, our narcissism (total self-focus), and takes us through the night into the daylight of His truth.” Brennan Manning
“A hostile world! I call to God, I cry to God to help me. From his palace he hears my call; my cry brings me right into his presence—a private audience! Psalm 18:6, The Message. Just like the mother of a newborn; his ears
are attentive to our heart-felt cry for him. He alone will suffice. A daily private audience with the King of Kings keeps our heart soft, broken and pliable. I will daily veil myself in thee and wrap my heart with the soft garment of your presence.
