9.16.2021 – Lessons Learned from Seasons of Change
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…”—Ecclesiastes 3:1
Can you feel it?
The change
that is in the air?
As the song goes,
“The times they are a-changin’”
The things of this earth
never remain the same.
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”—Genesis 8:22
“Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding…‘”—Daniel 2:20-21
We sometimes think
we want “the same”…
but how we need “change“…
How we need the “change”
that God allows…
…to change us.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”—Psalm 51:10
As challenging as “change” can be
for someone like me...
I’m thankful for it now.
Because now
I can see…
that in all the seasons
when I resisted “change” the most…
…is when I needed a change
most desperately. 💖✨
“It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”—C. S. Lewis
So thank You, Father
for knowing what’s best,
for knowing what must be…
God, You use “change”
so perfectly…
as You are shaping me
into the child…
that You’ve designed
for me to grow into
and to be.
Thank You for guiding me through the changes in my life
…so faithfully.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”—2 Corinthians 5:17
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”—Isaiah 43:19
…and isn’t it comforting to know…
that,
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“You can endure change by pondering His permanence.”
—Max Lucado
And so, we know…
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”—2 Corinthians 4:16
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”—2 Corinthians 3:18
“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'”—Revelation 21:5
Thank You, Father. 💝
