In the Grip of Grace

This is an actual photograph taken of the moon poking through the clouds with a reminder of our Father’s heart toward the entire world. The gift of His precious Son Jesus born to be our Savior, Lord, Lover, Elder Brother, King, Healer, Counselor, Hope, High Priest, and the head of His Body on Earth is the greatest evidence of His true heart ever needed!

Our faith must continually point us back to the depths of Father’s heart in Jesus!  I feel weaker at this point in life than ever before. Then I take a peek at His Heart in Jesus and my weaknesses make sense. Just the revelation of Christ born to be our Savior is enough to call us to His grace made evident in our weakness.

“And (Jesus) said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in (your) weakness. (In great pleasure) Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my infirmities (weaknesses), that the power (strength) of Christ may rest (abide) upon me/us. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, reproaches, necessities, persecutions, distresses. For Christ’s sake for when I am weak (the weakest), then am I (by New Covenant relationship with Jesus) the strongest. Be astounded at how Eugene Peterson shares this truth in The Message.

2 Corinthians 12:6-10 (The Message)

“6 If I had a mind to brag a little, I could probably do it without looking ridiculous, and I'd still be speaking plain truth all the way. But I'll spare you. I don't want anyone imagining me as anything other than the fool you'd encounter if you saw me on the street or heard me talk. 7 Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! 8 At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, 9 and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. 10 Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size - abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.”

Only with our faith turned toward Jesus can we live at this place; allowing our limitations and weaknesses to open our tightened fists of performance and control and simply let Christ take over! It is always a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. “For I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live, I live by the faith of Son of God in me. Who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God by my own strength, but; I enter into grace at all times through the door of my own weaknesses! May we receive the continuous gift of Christ’s great grace?” (Adapted from Galatians 2:20-21)
