10.6.2021 – “I will praise You forever, O God, for what You have done. I will trust in Your good name…”
“I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.”—Psalm 52:9 NKJV
This morning, I felt like the Lord wanted me to,
“rest, reflect, and digest…”
(I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant… until He led me into a couple of my old journals from 2018.)
Sometimes the Lord leads me back into my journals from previous seasons.
And it’s not so much about Him “showing me something old”
as it is
about “revealing something new“…
…something that He’s orchestrated
that I haven’t been able to see
or “put together” until now.
Or He shows me a thing I need to be reminded of—in a fresh way,
something He said or did in my life before,
and that helps me in stepping into
the “new thing”
that I am walking towards.
“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”—Isaiah 43:19 NIV
I always get excited about these times of “remembering and reflecting” with Him,
because when I reflect on what He’s done before,
I get even more excited and expectant about what He’s going to do next—for what He has in store!
I am hearing this reminder within my heart today…
“Trust Him with where He leads you!“
We may not understand each step in the moment by moment,
but we must remember that He’s “got the map”
and He knows where He’s taking us—and He’s got GOOD plans.
Our God is pulling the pieces together.
Even if we cannot see or understand
from where we are standing in the moment,
we can know
we can expect,
…and we can look forward to seeing…
we can GO AHEAD AND LOOK FOR
this beautiful NEW thing that He is preparing for us to step into with Him.
“The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”—Isaiah 40:5 NKJV
“Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the foundation of the earth?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth;
its dwellers are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
He brings the princes to nothing
and makes the rulersj of the earth meaningless.
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown,
no sooner have their stems taken root in the ground,
than He blows on them and they wither,
and a whirlwind sweeps them away like stubble.
“To whom will you liken Me,
or who is My equal?” asks the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high:
Who created all these?
He leads forth the starry host by number;
He calls each one by name.
Because of His great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.
Why do you say, O Jacob,
and why do you assert, O Israel,
“My way is hidden from the LORD,
and my claim is ignored by my God”?
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary;
His understanding is beyond searching out.
He gives power to the faint
and increases the strength of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength;
they will mount up with wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not faint.”—Isaiah 40:21-31 BSB
Thank You, Father. 💝 Thank You for these reminders, that give me glimpses “into the new” that encourage and strengthen me, to keep LOOKING FOR—and by faith, stepping into… the beautiful NEW thing that You are doing…. this NEW THING that You have been preparing in Your heart for Your people since before the foundation of the world!
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and was and is to come—the Almighty.”—Revelation 1:8 BSB
