This morning I had some thoughts. Do you ever meditate on the person and presence of God? What do you think God is like?
Does your mindset reflect the eternal God? And what might that look like?
I deal with people all the time that question the word of God. I am sure that you have had the same experience.
Here are some of my thoughts about this...
The very beginning of the Bible begins with a proclamation of God. "In the beginning God..." He is before all things and His existence is unchallenged. Heaven and earth do not question His existence. All of creation comes out of Him and created inside Him, for nothing can exist outside Him. Trying to find words to describe the eternal purpose and plan of God is challenging at best. But I must.
When the beginning happened God was already present. When one creates he has to first be there to create. When my mother and father came together for your conception they first had to be there first and engage to give you life. When Alexander Graham Bell invented the first light bulb he had to be there first. He was the first to see a light bulb shine.
This seems like an uneducated argument but bears being told. This kind of logic dispels all the intellectual arguments that would deny God’s existence. To create the creator must first exist. No creator creates himself with the object that he is creating.
As the creation is examined in more detail scientist are finding that the design of this world is to precise to be a work of random chance. This is intelligent design. The design of a wise being… God.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” God says He created the heavens and the earth. Was there anyone else there to see the heavens and the earth created?
My loving Heavenly Father created the world from Him and created me in His own image. The scripture says in different books from Genesis to Revelation that He created me and all things. Now either His word is true or all of His word is a lie. Look at these references to the creator and His creation.
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
Genesis 6:7-8 “And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents me that I have made them. (8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.”
Psalm 148:1-5 “Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. (2) Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. (3) Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. (4) Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. (5) Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.”
Isaiah 42:5 “Thus says God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein…”
Ephesians 3:9 “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ…”
Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist…”
Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Revelation 10:5-6 “And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, (6) And sware by him that lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer…”
If God’s word cannot be trusted in Genesis and Psalms then “For God so loved the world…” in John 3:16 cannot be trusted. If God’s word in Isaiah or Ephesians is a lie then the story in John 19 and 20 of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ cannot be true. Either I believe that all of God’s word is true or I really cannot trust any of it. God and His Word must be believed because it is true.
The invisible God uses His word as the DNA structure for all created time and space and releases His promise the same way. My God is entirely awesome and powerful.
A powerful life with God begins in agreement with the Word of God. The moment I begin an argument with God you lose.
How do you see His Creation?
