Anchored-Living Hope

(Hebrews 6:19-20)
New International Reader's Version (NIRV)Today's New International Version (TNIV)
19 Our hope is certain. It is something for the soul to hold on to. It is strong and secure. It goes all the way into the Most Holy Room behind the curtain.19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
20 That is where Jesus has gone. He went there to open the way ahead of us. He has become a high priest forever, just like Melchizedek.20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Is your hope anchored in the inner sanctuary, where Jesus serves as High Priest? If I find my hope being anchored elsewhere, like...i.e., the economy being robust and healthy (do an honest, soul searching inventory of where you are placing your hopes) it evaporates before my very eyes.

When the storms of life hit -- as they do -- time and again, do you faithfully turn to the one (Jesus Christ) to whom you are tethered, (not cut the line to rely on your own fallen devices)....your rock, your source, your comfort...the God of all comfort. In Him, our hopes are certain, something for the soul to hold on to, strong and secure!

One very simple, yet; profound difference in that hope, juxtaposed to worldly hope--it is anchored on the inside! Our hope must be moved from outer realities to the inner sanctuary of the soul...the heart where Jesus lives. Anchored hope overtakes doubt, fear, uncertainty, etc. from the inside out! And, by the way: Jesus, our forerunner, entered the safe sanctuary of Heaven, the Holy of Holies, to lead us in, to anchor our hope in Him!
