Ever wondered what really verifies your uniqueness? Of course you have. We all do. Truth be told we all question the certainty of our ‘one-of-a-kind’ existence. Inherent in our wondering is the hope of being truly rare and distinctive. Is there anything that sets us above or distinguishes us from the crowd?
“The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. This act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.” (Hebrews 11:1-2, Msg)
What really gives reason for an astonishing and admirable life is our authentic trust in God! Any other answer is simply a mirage or smoke and mirrors. Faith in Jesus is the only hope of a life built upon a firm foundation. It is what gives our lives true distinction. It’s our handle and leg up on what is unforeseen to ourselves and others. Reliance on God will set you apart from the skeptical crowd.
Through the eyes of faith we can see what is yet unseen to an incredulous world. “By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.” (Hebrews 11:3, Msg) Can you see what he is saying to you? Once we believe the unseen…
The eyes of faith always have a serendipitous future around the next corner. “But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: ‘Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?’ The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to. (Romans 10:17, Msg) All you have to do is listen to him and take just one more step by faith! When you do, you become privy to the secrets of God.
9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”[a]
