The Battle behind the Battle

If you don't believe in the devils existence, just try resisting him for a while--Charles Finney.

We live in a time where there is an unpresidented amount of of information, and  teaching of God's Word. Modern technology informs us at such a fast rate, that it is almost impossible to retain, use, and allow His Word to "live" inside us, through these means alone.

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Two important things that I have been thinking about can be "missed" or "overlooked" in this vast amount of wisdom and knowledge offered.

1) A large part of the Word we hear (if not meditated on, then walked out in everyday life) cannot take root and remain in our heart. ..The Parable of the Sower... (for example.)  Meditating is fast becoming "a lost art." It is the enemy who tries to keep us from meditating on God's word. This, in itself is part of the enemys strategy to distract and defeat us in areas. Satan delights in conflicts of any kind. Without the Word rooted and working in us, we are then pulled from His Purpose, His Kingdom, and even His character, if we are not careful.

2) This is most important. The words and teachings we hear, if not coupled with the reality of what the enemy is doing in the unseen world, is deficient. He is as real as Jesus. He has a malicious and sadistic plan for our lives, and has his sights set on us. He is the "arch deceiver." We are no match, except through Christ.

The Good News! 1 John 4:4b Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.

What a priceless treasure was given, when He became the Word made flesh. To meditate on Him, His nature, His Word, until the treasure is ours for eternity. Your word have I hid in my heart!
