Roots

Trees are deeply rooted into the ground, are the roots are generally about the size of the tree itself. The more deeply rooted they are, the greater they stand against gale winds and environmental disasters. These trees may sway with the wind, lose some of their branches or leaves but they continue to stand firm. It takes time for the trees to grow and no one sees their roots growing because they are underground drinking up the water and receiving nutrients from the dirt itself while the tree is soaking up nourishment from the sunlight. It is the same with our lives, as we are hiding the word in our hearts, seeking God in prayer and soaking up his love, we are growing spiritually. The presence of God is taking root in our hearts and when tribulation, persecution, trials and stresses of life come upon us, they cannot uproot us because our roots are secure in the love of Jesus. Knowing Jesus and receiving his love in this way will also cause us to move forward and love others in a similar way that a tree provides shade and fruit to the people around it. Prayer for the Day…. “ I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19 (KJV) Have a wonderful Tuesday!
