Prayer (cont.)

John 11:41-42b  So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father I thank You that You who  have heard me. Yes, I know You always hear and listen to me.

Jesus had no doubt that the Father heard Him, and always listens and hears Him. What an awesome personal connection! Prayer is always meant to be answered, or God would not even tell us to pray. Jesus would not have prayed if He did not expect to be heard. Have we lost a bit of this personal connection like Jesus had? Ask ourselves:

1) How often do we pray?
2) Is prayer our first line of defense?
3) Do we expect an answer?

A few benefits of prayer
1) True prayer brings us into intimacy with God.
2) We receive His promises through prayer.
3) Prayer reveals our faith, and our honor of His Word.

God is always faithful to answer prayer. Mark 11:24  "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Why is it when there is a prayer meeting, usually fewer than normal show up. But when there is a special event, a guest speaker, or program, many willingly and enthusiastically make a priority to attend? Is it that they do not know the depths of what prayer accomplishes, or that the God who created us truly HEARS US, & ANSWERS?

Some exciting things about prayer:
1) The power in prayer is our inheritance as believers!
2) Every prayer based on His Word, and prayed in faith by right standing with God is always answered!
3) God answers the second we ask, and reveals the answers in His timing!
4) Prayer is one of the most exciting aspects of a life of faith!
5) It is communion and communication that touches God's heart!

What could possibly be more exciting, more of an honor, more fulfilling, than to communicate and have the privilege to have God speak to us through prayer. To commune back and forth. To grow more intimately acquainted?  I honestly cannot think of anything in Heaven or earth more valuable, precious, and rewarding than having the One who created the universe, Who planned in love for me, desiring to bring me into His heart through prayer! Especially knowing that prayer touches His heart. Beyond my mind.
