New Wine for the New Year

12-31-2011

Here’s a New Year “Heads Up” for y’all...

Over the past 3 days I have had this extremely unusual desire for a bottle of wine. Any of you that know me well, know that I do not drink ... MAYBE one glass of wine a year ... and even that is quite rare for me.  This desire for wine came over me repeatedly to the point that I even walked back to the wine section at Wal-mart to get a bottle.  Now, my husband is a “delivered” alcoholic as most of you know and he forbids alcohol to be in our home.  So for me to even consider purchasing a bottle of wine is very strange as one: I rarely drink, and two: I believe in honoring my husband’s desires.  As I pondered this strange desire, I felt the Lord saying that He wants to pour HIS wine, His “New Wine” into us and for us not to go after the “counterfeit” wine. (”Be not drunk with wine in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit”  (Eph 5:18) God is ready and about to do a new thing and we must be and remain “Sober, vigilant; because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” (I Pe 5:8-9) I am sensing that this is very important.  Don’t we all want to be ready, waiting, and expectant for the “new thing” the Lord wants to do for us?  I know I do!!  Also, I shared this with my friend, Joni Ames, and she said the Lord showed her that He wants to “commune with us” as in “communion”.  So it would be totally appropriate for us to purchase some grape juice and ring in the New Year with Communion with our Heavenly Father.

Lord, we invite You to come and do the “NEW THING” that You are ready to do in our lives, in our regions, in our nation and in this world!

Kingdom of God, COME! Will of God, BE DONE! In Jesus Name.

May you all have the most  blessed New Year!

ps...I JUST got a call from an intercessor friend and she said that after reading this post, she HAD to call me to tell me what happened to her sister, who I just "happened" to run into yesterday ... her sis said that for the past 3 days, SHE had been craving wine too! And she never drinks!  My friend said that the Lord had been impressing upon her to take communion tonight to usher His presence into 2012 and that my post was a confirmation!  So let's DO IT!  Let's commune with the Lord as we usher in HIS presence.

(btw, there is NO condemnation to those who DO choose to drink occasionally ... it is NOT a sin to drink, but it is a sin to get drunk.  Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit... treat it as such.)

God bless!
