Revelation is written from John’s perspective in heaven looking down on the earth. He closes out chapter 12 setting the stage for the introduction of the antichrist. Satan, represented as the dragon and also known as the accuser of the brethren, has been cast out of heaven with his angels onto earth. The martyrs in heaven rejoice, celebrating how they overcame him by rising up through their testimony and giving up everything for Christ. The dragon, once realizing it was cast out, retaliates and goes after the remnants of the woman’s seed. It is here John then transitions into the two beasts which are controlling and deceiving the people on the earth. The one from the sea has been given its power from the dragon. The one from earth is speaking like the dragon causing people to worship the first beast. Who are these beasts and what do they represent? What role do they play in the second coming?
