New Weekly Podcast by Alan Smith

NEW podcast published today on the book of Romans by Alan Smith!

We are always given the power to be a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness. If we chose that latter, we are given the gift of eternal life. If we choose the former, our wage is death. So knowing that, why do we choose sin? Why do we forfeit the possibility of walking in holiness and righteousness? The answer is shame. Shame is the controlling factor keeping Christians bound in sin. It blinds us to the gospel and has us attached to law. Law is a spirit of expectancy about conduct and behaviors with which we are born that we project on ourselves and others. The purpose of it is to condemn failure with the effect of discouraging us and thus producing a feeling of shame. How do we know if we are controlled by law? How are we to be free from the law? And what does our freedom have to do with adultery? Alan Smith covers those questions and more in this week’s teaching of Romans.
