Every time we put our hands back on 'religion' instead of 'authentic relational reality' with Jesus, we tend to turn it into a means of controlling ourselves or others. We (while playing 'god') are, either putting or keeping them 'in their place'. The even sadder part is truly believing it's for their own good.Religion; with its rules and regulations, is only our attempt to get to God on our terms. Christianity is daily embracing by 'faith through grace' God coming to us in Jesus. "Embracing what God has done for us is the best thing we can do for him," Paul. Through Jesus, Paul learned that God was not some impersonal force to be used to make people behave in certain prescribed ways, but a personal Savior who set us free to live a free life."Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you. I am emphatic about this. The moment any one of you submits to circumcision or any other rule-keeping system, at that same moment Christ's hard-won gift of freedom is squandered" Galatians 5:1-4, The Message.Religion will attempt to convince you that "you have fallen from grace" if you sin. The truth is, when you miss the mark and humbly turn to Jesus for forgiveness, "you have fallen into grace." Falling from grace only happens when we attempt to fix ourselves through some 'religious duty' or 'rule-keeping'.
