“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
“O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.” John 17:20-26 NLT
Jesus prayed this amazing prayer for us to the Father before he left this earth. Jesus asked the Father to give us the glory that He gave Jesus so that we could be one, one with him and each other. The enemy knows this is the biggest threat there and he is doing everything he can to tear that down in every aspect of life. First, we see the deterioration of the family unit, churches and all kinds of relationships. Jesus said that as we realize he is in us and we are in him, we would begin to experience perfect unity. The enemy is attempting to set enmity between the people of God avert this prayer of Jesus. He will not succeed. Jesus said that he would continue to reveal the Father’s heart to us and his love would be in us and he will be in us.
Lord,
I agree with the prayer that Jesus prayed for us and I ask you to reveal your love in greater measure in my life. I want to know your love for me and for those around me so that I can walk in unity with your plans and purposes. Lord, teach me to walk in love and the strength of your Spirit to stand in the truth of your word, which exposes the lies of the enemy. Lord, I know the greater we walk in your love, the greater we will walk in the unity of your Spirit.
Father, impart a deep revelation that the love you have for us is as great as the love you have for Jesus. This is amazing and beyond human comprehension, I ask you for this revelation through the power of your precious Holy Spirit.
