Is it always trust?

I would like to hear some thoughts back on this...I used to think, "Now we are free from having to follow the Law. We simply love God and each other. (as if that was the easier thing to do.)  So now that I am older, the impossibility of that is real to me. So, I read in 1 John (4:22- 5:3) and it seems that John who is a Jew and knows the most famous commandment (Mark 12:30-31) interchanges "Love the Lord Your God,,,"  with "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." Will this produce the Desired love in our hearts? What do you think of this interpretation?

  • "Embracing what God does for us is the best thing we can do for Him"...love, trust; I believe everything in our life of trust and faith hinge on Embracing His constant, unchanging love. Thanks for the exhortation, Ron
  • Here I am commenting on my own thoughts....1 John says, :we love because He first loved us." So...if this is where love begins, then maybe the answer for loving each other lies with what 1 John 5:1 says. " If we love Him who begot, we will love him who is begotten of Him."
