How Precious are His Thoughts Toward Us

Psalms 139:17-18  How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I awake I am still with You.

This verse is so overwhelming to think that our Creator, the One who spoke the world into existence through a word, the invisible, immortal, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign One, thinks of us. The psalmist says His thoughts are precious. They are valuable, rare, and highly prized.

His thoughts toward us are innumerable. They cannot be counted, as the grains of sand are beyond numbering. This is beyond human understanding, and human nature in itself. His thoughts began before conception, and will never end, throughout eternity. He has set His love upon us to do us good. His thoughts are deep in themselves, such as can't possibly be fathomed or comprehended by our carnal minds.

We will never know the vast amount of thoughts He had in creating and planning for us. To even think that He takes the most intricate and immeasurable amount of time in planning, is love beyond our human understanding. Then He spends an even more extravagant amount of thought and time necessary to bring His plans for us to completion and perfection, developing them patiently and tenderly. He, as our loving Father also takes great thought in providing, and defending us. Such a tremendous amount of details that go into so many areas of our lives! His thoughts cannot be measured.

Even in sleep, there is still the same unceasing care, and the same thoughtfulness still exists towards us. When our eyes are closed in sleep, He is round about us, and when we awake, we find the same existing still. There is no change or slumbering with Him. We cannot conceive the multitude of God's compassions, which are all new each and every morning. How amazing to wake up and know that He has thought of every detail of our day, and planned each of our steps with His amazing love.

Psalms 139:13-16  For you formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
