Freedom Requires Choice

Happy Memorial Day!

It is for freedom He set us free.

Freedom has a cost, requires us to make a decision and places a determination in us to move forward.

Slavery does not require decision, tenacity or any kind of resolve from us but actually invites complacency because we allow someone or something else to dictate our lives.  A false perception is that just because our basic needs are provided for we are walking in freedom and this delusion creates a sense of security which actually embraces slavery.  Slavery does not require us to fight to keep our ground because we do not have any ground to keep, we simply follow orders without having to make decisions or be responsible.  This is a counterfeit of freedom because many people are deceived into believing that this kind of life without responsibility is really freedom when it is actually bondage, this is deception.

America’s freedom does not come free of costs, it involves a high price; the lives of resolute men and women who willingly sacrifice their existence to ensure our liberty.

Freedom however, requires that we make decisions such a, “choose this day whom you will serve.”  Our freedom as Christians is priceless because it was purchased with the precious blood of Jesus, the pure Lamb of God.

Jesus is Lord!  He is one with Father God and Holy Spirit, the blessed trinity.  Jesus Christ became man and dwelt among us, died, was crucified, buried, rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven.  He sits at the right hand of the Father and is ready to judge the living and the dead and He did it all to reconcile man to God because of his love for us.  There is no other Savior and I rest my life on this fact which is possible only through dependence on and power of the Holy Spirit.  This is the gift of God, eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

To whom much is given much is required.  What would you give in exchange for your life?

On this Memorial Day remember our country and the God of our country and chose this day whom you will serve.
