Fix Your Eyes Upon Jesus

As I thought about this verse in Heb.12:2, I could sense the Holy Spirit wanted to convey something of a deeper dimension of the importance of what we fix our eyes, thoughts, and focus on. When we look at something, (either natural or spiritual,) we are seeking, searching, examining, and watching. When we focus on something it becomes our attraction, spotlight, center, heart and target.

The importance of what He was trying to convey, was made real, as I searched the internet on the degree the brain processes what we see and think. Some facts below:

1) The human brain has the storage capacity to record 11 million books.

2) By estimation, the brain has about 100 million MIPS (million instructions per second) worth of processing power, while recent super computers only have a few million MIPS worth in processor speed. The brain is still the winner in the race.

3) The brain of an average healthy human being includes around 100 billion neurons, all connected to something like 1000 (or more) other neurons, 100 billion neurons all firing around 200 times per second gives a capacity of 20 million billion firings per second.

4) The world's total CPU (central processing unit) power=one human brain. Take every computer in the world and add their processing power together. According to new research, they would only equal "the maximum number of nerve impulses executed by one human brain per second. This means: all the coomputers in the world have now reached the capacity of one person.

5) The brain processes 400 billion bits of information a second. But we are only aware of 2,ooo.

I know.......I couldn't believe this either, and it brings a whole new meaning to "Guard your eye gates, and "Putting on the mind of Christ."
