Be still. Can you hear it? Do you perceive what is about to happen? Do you think that all your sweat and effort will accomplish what you are really longing for? We are entering a season of shout followed by a holy hush! Be still and know that only God can accomplish what must be done for there to be any hope.
This fresh move must be entered with one clear and resounding shout: a shout to precede the Holy hush. Can you shout with all your heart? And then, can you wait in a Holy silent hush before him? What is about to come was prophesied by Zechariah many years ago. So what do we have to shout about in these difficult days? And what do we have to be still in a Holy hush about? Is this just one more build up, only to be let down again? No, it is not!
"Shout and be glad, Oh daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the Lord. Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.” Zechariah 2:10-13, NIV.
Between the ‘season of shout’ we are presently in, and the ‘holy hush’ about to come, is a remarkable and historical event. We are on the edge of the greatest outpouring of Gospel power the world has ever known. It is and will be greater than any revival recorded in history. Are you prepared to receive this? Has your inner life been cleansed and prepared for Papa to come and live among you? Has your heart been enlarged to make room for all people groups to become your beloved brothers and sisters?
This is Jesus, the prophet Zechariah is referencing. This is a remote prophesy, hinting about what was a hidden mystery until the Gospel of Grace was given through the Apostle Paul. This is the Gospel of Jesus about to be fulfilled among His own nation Israel, while also being given to all the nations of the entire world. The latter will be fulfilled first.
That constitutes this ‘season of shout.’ Wow, God is making himself known to all peoples. Come on, shout in celebration. You have been included! Laugh, dance, and celebrate-for Salvation and its author have come to your heart! Open your heart wide enough for him to add all his family within you. And begin praying for your brethren Israel-the holy hush will begin soon. Their eyes will be opened and they too will receive the Messiah.
What is also absolutely necessary to keep you hearts open wide in this ‘season of shout?’ ”This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” Zechariah 4: 6, NIV. Are you ready to let go of the reigns of your accomplishments, control and expectations? Are you ready to let out a long shout of relinquishment to the only one who can do this? Are you ready to only move when empowered by his Spirit? Are you able to pray in waiting with a holy hush as a mother about to give birth? Can your heart be entrusted to nurture and raise any and all he will bring into your house?
Only, only, only, only, only-did I say only? Only, the Holy Spirit can pull this off. Papa has chosen to pour him out through you and me. That also demands a shout followed by a holy hush! This season will require and call forth a life of faith, such as we have never lived previously. We will be entrusted with the greatest move of God ever seen by humanity.
Get ready-it is upon us! Only he can tell you what get ready means for you. But, get ready! There is no more time to play religious or self focused churchianity. Shout now and get ready for a holy hush. You will be awed and amazed at what he will do in and among you! Get ready-whatever that takes! Did I say there is no more time? Be nurtured by the shout before the holy hush.
