The Character Of God Revealed In The Kingdom Message

The God Who Seeks

The interesting element in Jesus’ proclamation of the Kingdom is paralleled by a new element in his teaching about God, that God is the seeking God. While the God of the prophets was active in history, the God of Judaism of Jesus’ day had withdrawn from the evil world and was no longer redemptively working in history.

Jesus’ message of the Kingdom is that God not only will finally act but that God was now again acting redemptively in history.…

Jesus Reveals Himself

"I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me.” Isaiah 65:1, NIV

This was the case in the Jesus movement of the late 60s and early 70s. It was also my experience. In 1970 I set off for Toronto, Canada by way of Jacksonville, Florida. I was headed to a rock festival, not Jesus. But thank God, I ended up in him! He wooed me and revealed himself too me. I wasn’t asking for him. He made himself known to me.

Many have a sense…

The Mystery Of The Kingdom

“Then Jesus said, ‘Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.’ When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, ‘The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’”

Mark quotes this to summarise…

Passivity to Passion

"Turning your passivity into passion…" quote from Larry Ramirez

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs…

What is Healing Part 4: Sharing Life Together

Our Relational Design: Sharing Life Together

In our last blog, we began studying the scriptures to reveal God’s relational design for our lives and discovered that from the beginning, we are created to enjoy loving relationship with Him. Since our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are an eternal, joyful, loving, relational Trinity – and created us in their image and likeness – everything about us is designed to be just as relational!

Today, we’ll continue by…

Kingdom Opportuities

Gross darkness is covering the land. Evil abounds! Barbaric treatment of women, children and Christians is epidemic. If you took the pulse of humanity at this moment in history you would find little respect, caring, compassion or tolerance-the pulse of life is faint at best. Religion has always been at war with authentic Christian faith, but nowhere and at no time has it been as vile and hateful as now. But wait! There is good news also available like never before.

Jesus Said, "I Will Build My Church"

“Those who love their dream of a Christian community more than they love the Christian community itself become destroyers of that Christian community even though their personal intentions may be ever so honest, earnest and sacrificial. God hates this wishful dreaming because it makes the dreamer proud and pretentious. Those who dream of this idolised community demand that it be fulfilled by God, by others and by themselves. They enter the community of Christians with their…

John 17 prayer

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.  I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

 “I have given…

Declare What Is To Be . . .

Isaiah 45:21 Declare what is to be, present it—let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago, who declared it from the distant past? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Saviour; there is none but me.

There’s a lot happening in our nation and the rest of the world right now. So much so, that there is an urgency for the body of Christ to rise up and pray for…

What is Healing? Part 3: The Reality of Relationships

The Reality of Relationships

Our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are an eternal, joyful, loving, relational Trinity.  Created in God’s image and likeness, everything about us is relational too! He designed us so that we function best when we are joyfully connected to Him and to others, and learn to see ourselves through these eyes of joy. That’s why relationships are the foundation for life, growth and healing.…

Restored to Innocence

Restored to Innocence: the state of not being guilty of a crime or offense, freedom from sin or evil…Do these statements define you and me? We will not likely live above what we believe about ourselves. If our self-view is tainted by shame we will accept ‘less’ as true of us.

The Grace Message of Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to believe what God believes about us! And that is that by faith we are righteous in Christ! And as such we are restored to innocence-as though we…

The Grace to Grasp Grace

Only God’s Grace enables us to have the courage to discover who we really are. And that discovery enables us to grant ourselves the grace to believe we are ‘image bearers’ who have an incredible destiny in Jesus! Too many for too long (myself included) have only believed in a grace message which professed an identity which grovels, “I am a miserable worm that deserves to burn in hell.” Grace will barely keep me from that fate. And that would only be possible on my very best day!

Jesus You Have Won Me

God is not looking for you to do more for Him. He is simply and passionately looking for more of you. He is looking for more of your heart. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9a, NKJV)

“You are at your…

Grace! What a declaration! What an unanswerable question that beckons a life long journey of seeking, searching, researching and being utterly amazed at how little we have yet discovered. Instead, we are left amazed by the moment by moment assaults it brings of authentic indescribable love.

Grace; 5 letters that explode into countless possibilities and experiences of help and hope. Grace seems to be right on the edge of heresy! And for the religionist, it is! Grace is so good…

His Shoulders were our Floor

Brother Mickey Evans-Though He’s With Jesus--His Encouraging Voice is Still Clear

His shoulders were our floor and He has passed his baton to the next generation. Difficult times, uncertainty on all fronts are the proving ground for a fresh wave and emergence of Holy Spirit led Generals.

But we are more than ready to grasp the responsibility that is now ours. Men like Brother Mickey poured into our generation and we have been made ready for our watch! He taught us the…

He that hath an ear let him hear…

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

Jesus wants us to hear what the Spirit is saying unto the churches.

God watches over his Word, confirms and performs it.…
