How does a church begin? What makes the people so special? Is it because of who they are or because of what Christ does? Let us look into the next lesson of Philippians to find a few answers. We will be using study material purchased from … Continue

It’s Time to Party
"There is nothing for God to do."It is finished." There is nothing for you to do."It is finished." Christ need not bleed. "It is finished." You need not weep."It is finished." God the Holy Spirit need not delay because of your unworthiness, nor need you delay because of your helplessness. "It is finished." Every stumbling block is rolled out of the road; every gate is opened... The bars of brass are broken; the gates of iron are burst asunder.… Continue

Hezekiah made a radical difference when he came to power as King of Judah in 715BC. He really turned the nation upside down. The House of Prayer (the Temple) had been closed for 16 years; the doors had literally been nailed shut. 2 Chronicles 29 tells the story of the cleansing and rededication of The Temple, but chapters 29 to 31 give us a description of an incredible revival that took place in the Nation. The reason this is of enormous interest to us is that the church carries a pattern of… Continue

YOU HUNG THERE, DYING ON A WOODEN CROSS
THOSE WHO FOLLOWED YOU, THOUGHT FOR SURE, THAT ALL WAS NOW LOST
YOU LOOKED AROUND AT THE PEOPLE OF WHICH, YOU WERE MOSTLY REJECTED
BUT WHAT WOULD SOON FOLLOW NOT…

Jesus is the exact representation of His Father-the exact likeness! "The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God." Jesus said of himself, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father." We share in His representation of Father! Can it been said of us, when the world looks at us, they have seen Jesus?

Jesus modelled perfect intimacy with his Father – he even implied that intimacy was the basis of his ministry and his ability to see what the Father was doing:
John 5:19-20 “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does.”
He not only modelled…

My friends, thank you for reading if you do what I write. I hope I do not burden you with mere words. I simply get up living in the middle of a corn field with little but me and my thoughts. Which I pray are stirred by my faith that God is with me. So since I have few to share them with I pick on you. I know most never read them and I know my language can be odd. But for those who do thank you and I pray you find life. Michael

You can't be lost without first truly belonging! Our belonging trumps any lostness we have ever experienced! As bearers of the image and likeness of God, we are always invited into the depths of His searching and finding. I desire to fully know and be fully known! The story of Easter beckons us afresh into knowing Him as The Son of Man. As Son of Man he gave His life for the world; establishing for all ages (past, present and future) our life in Him. As Son of Man he finds us in our lostness… Continue

Psalm 50, thoughts.
written by Michael McBane
My recent meditations brought me to Psalm 50. I will share some of the thoughts that percolated as I read. I will extract particular verses and make some applications. My applications may take liberties according to some but never the less I think they have merit.
Many understand that God is about to engage us towards a great transition in our time. Some of you like myself have had a deposit made within you of a particular… Continue

His Life Within
written by Michael McBane
I often present similar themes but I do so with deliberate purpose. I find I can not move around such themes because of the call on our family so here I go again. To centralize, “My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you" (Gal. 4:19). If I am to come to anyone in words or face to face it must be in this accord, I come because you are in Christ and if you in turn… Continue

Each of us has a significant part to play in God's plan of Redemption! And it is not a 'bit' part or role! It is a call to "fight the good fight of faith." Preparation is critical; even non-negotiable. More than Moses have sheepishly argued with "God-The Director" saying; "God you have the wrong man." As we present our case before God, revelation begins to open our eyes as to why we might, in fact, be the best choice for the part!
"Look, God, your God, has placed this…

James Taylor wrote a song many years ago which begins:
There’s something in the way she moves,
Looks my way or calls my name,
That seems to leave this troubled world behind.
And if I’m feeling down and blue, or troubled by some foolish game,
She always seems to make me change my mind.
I feel fine any time she’s around me now,
She’s around me now almost all the…

Forgiven and Forgiving
written by Michael McBane
Having titled this piece forgiving I was stifled by this thought, I have not written such a word or the extensions there of, it is written by God alone. Having prefessed my words let me continue with this quote by Henry Scougal.
“The worth and excellency of a soul is to be measured by the object of its love.”
I credit my knowledge of… Continue

James 1:27 sits at the heart of the poverty issue today which sits at the very heart of our Gospel. What sits at the heart of the poverty issue therefore is the question of what is acceptable religion before God?
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (NIV)
